Bloomberg Initiative (BI)
Tobacco Control Cell secured grant from Bloomberg Foundation, USA in 2008, to strengthen the existing tobacco control interventions. A Bloomberg Initiative (BI) funded project “Enhancing Tobacco Control in Pakistan” was launched in July, 2008 and completed in February, 2011. Considering the progress achieved, this project was extended for two and half years.
The extended Project titled “Strengthening Tobacco Control in Pakistan” was started in March, 2011 for two years. Activities under this project were carried out at Federal, Provincial and District level (in 20 model districts). This project was completed on 31st October, 2013, after extension in deadline.
Considering the progress achieved by Pakistan in tobacco control particularly under this Project, this project has been extended.
